LO2 Multiplatform Distribution Methods

There are three different types of radio frequencies which are FM, AM, and DAB. The first one AM stands for Amplified Modulation and it is the oldest radio which was invented back in 1870, however it is of lower quality than FM radio but it is cheaper as well and can be transmitted over much more further distances and it also means that more radio stations stations will be able to reach it as it will be in the frequency ranges. The next one is called FM which stands for Frequency Modulation and this is the more well known radio because it is the most highest quality one, as it is also less prone to interference and better than AM. It also ha a much more higher band width than them as well resulting in a  much crisper sound quality. And finally the last one DAB, what this stands for is digital audio broadcasting and this is because like the other two instead of transmitting frequencies it sends binary signals which translate to sound at can be listened to, it is also much more higher quality compared to the FM station. The majority of the listeners listen to these radio stations whilst they are driving or some older people even listen to them through traditional radio stations to this day.

There are  also many other ways to listen to radio stations, examples of this include through a TV as most of todays radio stations already have a dedicated channel for their radio stations people can access, but these channels are primarily for the radio stations which attract a higher number of listeners. Even though it is convenient for people to listen to radio through TV it is most likely the least popular way to listen to it because a TV is not portable.

Another good way to access radio is through applications on your mobile device, a good example of this is  capital FM's app so you can listen to it anywhere and anytime you want and portability is a huge factor. As well as that the sound quality will be very clear and high quality because it is being transmitted as a DAB. Also this is probably going to be on the most ways people will access radio as it uses modern day the enology and these days every one has a mile device.

Theres also some websites that are dedicated to radio stations, however like the TV this isn't the best way to access radio as it I not portable like the mobile devices. A good example of this is BBC Radio 1 as they have the radio show recorded and you can access this at any given time.

And finally one of the last way people can access radio is through modern day sort home devices such as Amazons Alexa, this method also requires a stable interest connection similar to the other two examples which means it is of higher quality and will provide an overall better experience to the listener and will also mean you have wider range of access to different types of radio programmes.
