 Choose a radio station and outline: The radio station I am going to be talking about is BBC Radio 1. BBC radio 1 is owned and ran by the conglomerate company BBC and was founded on the 30th OF September 1967 it specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day, it is also a national radio station which means it is broadcasted to all areas of the UK instead of just being broadcasted to a specific part of the UK and this is also an advantage as it allows for a wider target audience and more listeners, however the down side to this is they have to play a mix of everything to make it suitable for all listeners. This radio station is also owned by a conglomerate which is called BBC which means that BBC radio one is a subsidiary. BBC Radio 1 is also a public service broadcaster (PSB) which means that the broadcasting is intended for public entertainment rather than to make any profit. LO1.2 Difference between types of programmes

A radio station can broadcast a wide range of programmes. They could be  broadcastig  a talk show or music portion on the radio station, which is what most radios have. This is where people, such as the host or another guest on the show, discuss a variety of issues, which could include anything from politics to music quizzes. Many radio stations also feature a part where listeners can call in and take a quiz or recite a word for a chance to win a reward. They could also call simply to talk about anything they've done or observed. The genre of the themes would be determined by the sort of radio station and the demographic of the li steners.  Talk shows are typically hosted by a single radio personality, usually positioned as an expert in some area. Many also feature occasional guests who are interviewed, as well as one or two regular co hosts who assist the main host.
